I like to Move it, Move it! Parent Hand-out!

Parents! I will be posting all of the "hand-outs" on the blog! Please, cut and paste these activities into a new document on your computer and print it off for yourself! Have fun!!!

The 5 Senses and Body Parts

Put Your Finger in the Air
«Learning Skills: gross/fine motor development, learning body parts, language development.

Put your finger in the air, in the air,
Put your finger in the air, in the air,
Put your finger in the air, then put it in your hair,
Put your finger in your hair, in your hair.
Put your finger on your nose, on your nose,
Put your finger on your nose, on your nose,
Put your finger on your nose, then put it on your toes,
Put your finger on your toes, on your toes.
(repeat with arm/leg, cheeks/chin, lip/hips/, neck/back, then)
Put your finger on your finger, on your finger,
Put your finger on your finger, on your finger,
Put your finger on your finger, and then in your lap,
At the end of the song, give a clap!

Variation: Substitute elbow, knee, hand, or foot, or other body parts for finger.

Shoe Store
«Learning Skills: balance, coordination, gross motor development, matching, classification

1. Select several pairs of shoes from your closet.
2. Place shoes in center of the room.
3. Let you little one explore the shoes.
4. Mix up the shoes and let him find matching pairs.
5. Then let him put on the shoes and try to walk around.

Variation: Set up an obstacle course for him/her to maneuver. Have your little one walk in shoes that don’t match!
